ABOUT THIS CEMETERY

About Evergreen Cemetery

Founded in 1877, Evergreen is the oldest and one of the largest cemeteries in Los Angeles, holding more than 300,000 people across 67 acres in Boyle Heights. Memor guides families through its densely packed, historic grounds to the exact plot.

Evergreen reflects the full diversity of early Los Angeles, with sections honoring Japanese Issei pioneers and the Japanese-American veterans of the 442nd Regimental Combat Team, alongside city founders, civil-rights leaders, and multiple Medal of Honor recipients.
