ABOUT THIS CEMETERY

About Bonaventure Cemetery

Spanish moss, live oaks, and sculpture made Bonaventure one of the most photographed cemeteries in the world. Families and visitors use Memor to find graves across its 100 riverside acres and to leave tributes on memorial pages.

Immortalized in John Berendt's Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil, Bonaventure stretches along the Wilmington River and is defined by its live oaks draped in Spanish moss. Confederate officers, Savannah mayors, and poet Conrad Aiken rest among its sculpted monuments.
